During my visit to Panama last year, I was fortunate enough to meet some of the great people who make our business run on the farm. One of the people I was lucky to spend time with was Hunter Tedman.
Hunter is our Lead Agronomist in Panama.
What is Agronomy?
Agronomy is the science and technology of producing and using plants for food, fuel, fiber, and land reclamation.
In our case, Hunter is the person who works to make sure the farms are producing the best quality crops with the least environmental impact, and furthering our goal to improve the lives of farmers and the community. He is on the farms every day, and for me, traveling with him was a real lesson in how coffee is grown.
On the Farm
Hunter grew up on the coffee farms of Boquete, Panama, and always knew he wanted to be an Agronomist: it’s in his blood. For generations, his family have farmed coffee, and to this day, his grandparents and mother still operate farms.
In 2000, Hunter received his degree in Agronomy, and has been in the business ever since.
2013 Mountain Bike National Champion
Hunter is an athletic competitor regularly completing triathlons and marathons, and is the 2013 National Bicycle Riding Champion. His passion for Agronomy and competing is only rivaled by his devotion to his family.
Hunter and his Family
The Rogers Family Company is proud to have Hunter as a part of the team and family.
